Boundaries and Uncertainty
This installation explores the fragile and shifting nature of boundaries, both physical and psychological. Using wire as a medium, I investigate the tension between structure and fluidity, control and unpredictability. The work emerges from my ongoing research on the concept of the line, which formed the foundation of my MA Fine Art practice. Initially a research-based project, my study of the line evolved into a deeper exploration of spatial and conceptual boundaries, culminating in this final installation.
The wire elements create an interplay of presence and absence, solidity and permeability, inviting viewers to navigate through the work while questioning the limits of defined spaces. Shadows cast by the wires introduce an additional layer of uncertainty, emphasizing the transient and ever-changing nature of perceived boundaries. This project reflects my broader artistic inquiry into materiality, form, and the tension between restriction and possibility.
